What does the red number mean at the end of the Chess.com header?

The red bell is not showing a number and all three notification boxes are empty. I have even tried restarting my laptop and nothing changed. I still have a red number 6 showing on the Chess.com header. Very annoying.

When you hover over the Chess icon and the Home, Messages, etc menu pops-up, you don't see any notifications listed there?

All those notes are the alerts. @PotatoKing7777 is correct, if you don't want to check those, use the Clear Alerts option.

Some things about this website are VERY ANNOYING! For example if you put "clear alerts" into the help box and it then comes up with complete crap. How do I clear alerts?

Using that will clear alerts. If the notification system is lagging, it may take some time for them to clear.

It means there is a Notification you can check.

You can either click on the alert to see what is about, or click the "x", but it could take time since its a bug that doesn't allow alerts to be cleared
