Regressing

I have been watching a lot of chess content and lessons and in the past two months or so I’ve steadily increased from about 700 to 1096. I had been consistently progressing and feeling like I was getting somewhere only to drop over a hundred points in a matter of hrs and losing to players that I had been consistently outperforming. I can’t seem to figure out why all of a sudden I forget how to play properly and seem to suck.

Sometimes you need to take a short break. It also isn't uncommon to do worse or just plateau while you try to integrate things you have been learning into your game. If the learning was productive, you'll likely see a bump again as you get additional experience.
