rematch

if you don't rematch, then don't play. chess is a game based in series...reasons: 1. you are scared to replay someone you barely beat 2. you are scared to use the other color 3. you are too scared to replay someone who just bear you and learn. It doesn't make sense not to allow both players to use each color. if you win both than you don't need to play the 3rd.

Sometimes I only have time for one game.

If you want rematches, then play full matches instead of casual games

Rancid-Knight

As said, sometimes I can only squeeze out 1 game depending on what I am doing.

Who said that we have to rematch? Why? I don't get what this fuss is about rematching. It's the people who are playing's choice whether they rematch or not, not your choice.

This is an ancient and dull subject matter which has been flogged to death on these forums, nobody owes anybody a rematch. I will say that a nice addition would be a 'best of 3' and/or a 'best of 5' feature on the game seek. Those that lose the first game and then abandon the mini match could then be awarded a loss and the one who did not abandon awarded the win, with ratings adjusted as though the game(s) took place.

I don’t rematch, and I’ll keep playing

I never rematch.  For one, I analyze the game right afterwards.  But also, from experience I've learned that if I beat some one - especially they are hyper-aggressive style which is most of my opponents - they will play even crazier the second time with some kind of super-fire and determination that I can't equal.. and I almost always lose.  So, I am happy with the win and since rematch is completely optional, I choose to go ahead and analyze the game and be happy with the win.  If I lose, especially if I was clearly outplayed, then why the hell would I play again?  I don't have this fiery desire and determination to prove I can beat them, so I'll probably just lose again.  And in practice, I've learned that I lose at least 90% of rematches, so I just stopped doing them since I never really wanted to anyway.  I want to evaluate the game, see where I can improve, learn something and then if I have time, play again against another opponent.  If this was so important to do rematches, chess.com and other sites would offer best of 3 options and they don't.  It's just an ego thing.

What if you played something highly rated, and you win by fluke, and you know that they will be pissed and destroy you the second time? Do you refuse a rematch? Yep. Sometimes it’s ok to walk away with a good feeling:

Someone not something. All I’m saying is that it’s fun to win. Especially against someone better than you. We all know when someone is a better player. And we’re not trying to ruin their day by not letting us destroy us in the next game, we’re just letting the good feeling resonate. You can’t take the victory feeling out of chess without ruining it

Yes. I am most certainly scared to play with the other color, it's not like I've played just as many games with the other color. I am just scared as a stick figure and am almost poo in pants.

you need to be 13 or older to wager, and a 13 year old would be smart enough to realize to not wager unless your really good, which isn't the case.

Spare the viewers of your excuses not to rematch. Fear is the number one reason. This is why you use words to justify rather than just playing.

LOL they play with fire and I almost always lose. That’s called cowardice my friend. Thank you for saying what so many deny on these forums, we all know the true soul of the non-rematcher.

You are such a strong man. A 15-hour old new account named "cowards won't rematch" talking about how people are cowards if they won't rematch in old threads. I'm sure you're the epitome of courage and chivalry, doing something like this.

Correct.  I fear losing the rematch.  100% right.
