Remove the F file Knight

I have seen many games where one side aggressively attacks the castled king (sometimes with a rook swing or greek gift). However, in my games, the opponent's knight on the f file (f6 or f3) blocks most of the threats. Are there any tricks/ideas I can use to somehow remove this knight?

A common idea is to push the g pawn forward to attack this knight and push it away from that square. If you go g4 and black goes h6 then you can go h4 again threatening to play g5. If possible you can go Rg1 to add more force. This is a much safer plan if you have castled queenside but can still be possible even advancing pawns in front of your own king. A simpler idea is to go Bg5 and simply exchange the knight Bxf6. If it cannot be recaptured with the other knight this can also give some weaknesses on h7.
