Requesting rematches is completely unacceptable behavior. As many have pointed out on these forums, it is the utmost form of rudeness and disrespect one can show to one's opponent. Anything else one can do pales in comparison to this audacious act, and anyone who has the temerity to insult his or her opponent with a rematch offer should be punished to the full extent of relevant rules and regulations.
So yes, it is in bad taste to request a rematch, period. The exact circumstances under which you request it are unimportant.
