I've had many games where I knew I could not win but got a draw because of stalemate. Is stalemate a good reason to keep on playing in a hopeless situation?
At lower rating levels, there's nothing wrong playing in until mate.
You know what they say about half a loaf. When you've drawn the game you can use the game analysis feature to see what you could have done earlier to've won. Understand when and why a possible win slipped away. You'll get stronger and win more often. Even world champions didn't win every game on their way to the top.
