In this game two Icelandic guys played, Haukur Angantýsson (IM) and Benedikt Jónasson (FM)

White (Benedikt) resigned in a position that should be lost.. but! He forgot one move! That wins the game! They both, pretty strong chess players did not see the move! Nobody did!

Also, this move is not very obvious!

It wasn't obvious, but not really very hard. There were only 3 legal moves , two of them gets mated outright. What were the ratings of those players? Was it a blitz game?

White about 2300 and black about 2400. Don't know alot about the game but I think it was not a blitz game

I know it does not make sense but in some culture, ranks and rating DO MEAN something and it is unacceptable that a weaker player beats a stronger one.

I remember playing my teacher and resigned in a winning position just to not humiliate him (so he wouldn't be seen as a teacher who gets beaten by his students). However, such premature resigniation might be seen in a different way to other cultures.

Overall, I believe its up to the different ways we see things.

Wtf?

He resigned because he thought it was a checkmate on the next move. But did not see the knight move!

That's completely ridiculous to resign because it's unacceptable to win. Change the teacher if you beat him always. If it happened once, he was just in a bad form.

White should get a good tactics book.
