How do you get inflated ratings by resigning?
I don't understand what's the point in resigning / aborting if you have black - maybe white's advantage is measurable in a game of 2000-2500s with perfect opening knowledge, but at our level below 1500 ... I've read that white's advantage was calculated to equal 0.25 pawn units, I've won games when I was down a piece and more, I've lost games when I was up a piece and more, so I'd say it really doesn't matter which colour you get ...
I much rather play white than black, playing white is easier as black can only use openings that counters yours
having white is always an advantage. im 1720 and i score roughly 65% as white and 45% as black.
I think your math may be skewed on this. Or you play against your self every so often?

No, as white he wins 65% of the time. As black he wins 45% of the time.
In my stats (for online chess), I win 62% of the time when I play white and 61% of the time when I play black.

Though, from looking at his Live chess bullet stats (the rating that is 1720) the following are the #'s: 50% of the time he wins when white, and 54% he wins when black.
I will agree with DonnieDarko1980, at our levels, color doesn't really seem to impact results that much. Though, there probably are exceptions with people that don't do very well with a particular color.
I don't want to get stuck playing white all the time, since when you do play black you'll be weaker in that regard, IMO. I like to mix it up a bit and play a few as white, and a few as black.
But now I do realize the possible reason why someone aborted my challenge game a couple days go, because they were playing black.
Alot of people resign if they happen to be black, this leads to inflated ratings for them and deflated ratings for people like me who just want to play chess.I think i have played alot more games as black just because of this, and thats annoying is there no way to stop it !??
