time to stop for today -- maybe after supper i will try again -- might change my name to doker blunder   "bd" for short --- i like that

there is no disingenuous on my part i am really this bad - i have never once got over 200 and lately  since iam playing longer games 5/10 minutes instead of 3 min   i never over 125

so playing like a professional is a way bit stretched  no matter what move i play or how you look at it

remember chess is a game of improvement. like slaveofjesuschrist would say 1 brick 2 brick 3 brick 4 brick. Keep stacking bricks one above the other above the other and above the other. Continue that. Put the bricks of skill and stack them. High high high high into the air. until you have a big pile, a very very big pile of bricks.

its a continual process that will stretch on for years and years.

There is absolutely no reason for this. Players below 200 don't know the opening principles. But you do!!!

Ya just don't like to follow them.  But you will someday. Eventually you'll do it, for me... the guy who keeps analyzing your games and giving advice and rooting for ya.

Give 'em hell Doker!

started out friday morning ok  back to 3 min games -- where there is a chance i can win on time outs -- if i am fast/ clever and discipled -- who i am kidding -- but my score kind a went up a little

following the rules is what the problem is -- granted - i don't do that --mostly i forget and in the heat of battle do some pretty stupid's things-- so i will try harder when iam not so flustered playing.

i learned that from poker disciple is the key to all  being anyway else just gets you losses

course i have a ton of money in the past playing poker so i don't play for real anymore -- couldn't find the hidden nugget that opens up the game -- ian sure there isn't any -- i just keep hoping

about the brick  on brick on brick thing ----- that"s all well  said and good -- my scenario is one brick goes up--then  two bricks go off the other side -- one brick goes up then three go off the other side-- then the wall is back at foundation and you have  wasted bricks at your feet  and no more mud to put new bricks up till you go get some when you calm down .

i do thank all that try to help -- why you do-- i don't know-- but thanks its the only thing that keeps me playing here  is these forums  and helpful advice -- its just the leading the donkey to the water barrel  thing -- but you can't make him drink .

I know the answer to both questions....  he moves so fast he doesn't analyze. Look at timestamps between moves (0 to 1 second per move). I mostly play 2 minute games, yet he moves faster than I do.

No doubt if he looked at that position with no time pressure, he'd recognize the threats and see hanging pieces.

Moral of this game - SLOW DOWN. An extra second looking at position and you'll see the threats, as well as all the hanging pieces opponents keep giving ya.

Congratulations breaking 150!  Slow down just a little and you'll be 200 in no time flat.

the reason i advance my queen is to stop those bishops or  queens form getting into deep first off the mark -- i did see upon your review how i missed a couple of moves i knew as soon as i moved the piece it was wrong- about the queen  hanging -- just missed it  - i always miss something looking at the clock to see if  its my turn to move -- very very bad habit -- will try to correct-- off for med nap now good thing they have lighten the dose of my med so i won't sleep nap as long in the afternoon-- so i can get back to ---what else   chess.com

i don't think 200 is due able for a long long while -- that brick thing keeps getting in the way keeps falling off the wall  faster than i can make new mud ---plus i seem to today to be  playing 150 to 180 score guys -- they are way to smart to fall for any of my tricks - or make any silly moves -- in enough quantity that i see them

but at least i didn't quit chess last night -- like i thought i would till i read the forums  --off to la la land -- see you in couple of hours

When you develop center pawns and your knight, their queen-bishop attack simply won't work. Let them waste early moves with their queen, don't you do it.

Please start a game with middle pawn moves - one 2 squares forward. The other 1 square forward. Creates good center control and makes the game so much easier with less threats to worry about. Then develop and castle. You can't lose!

late night wake up from sleep played two games one win one loss -- brick on// brick off-- oh well!

saturday morning well be a different day

Avatar of dokerbohm

saturday morning did't go well  few losses in row - played while was groudy getting up didn't have my coffee yet and meds -- no excuse --played badly  only thing i did right was get those front pawns out like you said  also playing a tougher crowd now better thinkers than me. will work a little concentrating   before games well back for some games

Avatar of dokerbohm

going from a high of 180  down to mid 150 is a disappointment but really i didn't think 180 was going to last -- bottom feeders are just that bottom feeders -- great feeling of improvement while it lasted -- will come back and play later when i have done some "honey dew" list things -- that list is always full -

Avatar of dokerbohm

from the 150 to 100 rock bottom again afternoon play ---  after nap i will try again

Avatar of Snookslayer

Didn't win, but I couldn't be prouder. That was your greatest opening of ALL TIME!!!

Just take those hanging pieces and castle a bit faster.  Still, that was absolutely beautiful. Keep doing that and you will get winning results. I guarantee it.

Give 'em hell Doker!

Admit it - you felt like you were in control most of that game. Know why? Because you were!!! You controlled A LOT more squares than your opponent most of the game, because you took center control with pawns and developed all your pieces. Meanwhile your opponent kept doing all the wrong things... moving same pieces around, wasting time with side pawn moves, etc.

That was amazing.  Do that more and TAKE THOSE HANGING PIECES! Or "dangling" as you say. happy.png
