well this morning not off to good start lost a couple in row starting to see a trend i can't seem to get over move 30 before i am lost mostly near the 20 range most opponents when the do lose are running out of time or make even bigger blunders than me going to work on opening 10 moves today only need to get to those centre spaces and control more see how it goes before med nap this afternoon

I'm looking at your all-time rapid rating and I see you got to 465 a couple of years ago when you were playing a lot of games. Maybe playing a lot of rapid games again will yield the same result (and then some)!
thanks i wish --- i have never got past 250 on this site ever -- that was two years ago for a very short time --- tried 10 min. games tonight and went 50 /50 win loses -- so i will try a couple more before bed the meds are starting to kick so i guess i got about 2/3 games left in me will stick to 5 min. games next see what happens still can't really get past move 35 for some reason thanks for the input helps when people comment once in a while good or bad

If you stop worrying about gaining elo and winning so much, then you will eventually just start to feel better about the game (:
When I started to get frustrated and lost a lot of elo, I took a bit of a break (1-2 weeks or so) just occasionally playing a game or two, it helped a lot. I would recommend you do the same ![]()

thanks for advice from up above but i stopped trying to better at this game long time ago when i realized that i don't have the brain set for this game and yes i get frustrated at times but always at myself for doing what i thought i would not do and make a blunders even when i went to 10 min games and to 5 min game -- i seem to do better at 3 min games maybe later this morning i will go back to 3 min and see if i can win at least a couple games win two lose one would be great ratio for me

++ Play 15|10, that gives you time to blunder check.

- It's much less about brains than experience. Sure you don't get to the highest levels without extraordinary levels in both, but at lower levels, experience is waaaay more of a deciding factor. I used to get so stressed out thinking that how good I am at chess is how smart I am, but that's veeeery wrong.
- For blunders, do the four questions: can I check them, can they check me, what pieces can I attack, what pieces can they attack. This is easier said than done--I have yet to play a game where I remembered to do it every move. But I'm working on it, and it's already drastically reduced how many pieces I hang.

nothing new to report more games lost than won back at 100 again going to try something new next game before i quit for the night
i don't anymore i don't have the brain power to get better at this game i just play now to fill time knowing i will lose. just trying to get to 30 moves and up seems to be the only thing i can maybe achieve -- and lately thats been a long shot
new thing is starting to happen mind you i havn't in many games now got to 30 moves and up most are in the 10 -12 range before i lose
this is new i always before was able to get into the 30's and high 30'd before i would lose now thats almost never always the end of the beginning part of the game i lose it hummmmmmmmm
Friday morning same as always more losses than wins so back to 100 again thank the gods for 100 i image if they just let you drop into the negative i would around i think about -900 for the last 30 days - so reset at 100 is a god send for me lowlifes -- off till after lunch snow is falling hard now and i need to scrape driveway it takes longer now in my weaker state so 15 minutes here then rest then 15 minutes there and soon its done then back to game
Saturday afternoon and back out of the basement 100 that is played more worse players than me making incredible blunders so i was more lucky than skilled but then again thats why i still keep playing hoping to play lesser players than my myself that pile of players is getting smaller and smaller so a win is a win i guess in this case a couple of wins in row off to my med nap before supper than maybe i take a sat nite break from chess and just wait till sunday morning to play
back into the basement again more losses than wins but its only monday morning and i can't do any worse than 100 so there is only one way to go see you this afternoon before med nap
monday nite no better than any other lost more than i won great first 10 moves then bang iam lost or mostly out played after 10-12 moves can't seem to get past that 10-12 move opening thing maybe tomorrow
thursday night and more losses than wins getting to basement again almost to 100 first ten moves are ok but then i fall apart at next ten and then get corned in next ten moves if iam lucky to get that far maybe friday good friday will bring me some insight in what goes wrong at move 10 or 11 almost every game
a little better this morning more wins than losses at least over 150 now and out of the basement trying something new in my opening and it seems to make me play a litttle longer will try again before lunch and see what happens
