Running out of time.

You're not the only one! I came on here to see what I'm missing or doing wrong. It seems that no matter what, once the game's 1 min timer runs out (even if it's not my turn and I'm in a winning position... I THINK lol) I'm the one who "loses" the game. It's frustrating. Even from a learning perspective... It's hard to know what strategies work or don't work if you lose no matter what.
I keep losing games on time, it's become depressing to the point where I am about to quit. I am not asking for any advice, because there is none anyone can give to help, however I just played a game and noticed I had 6 seconds left, I made a really fast move and bang all my time had gone, no way was that 6 sec, 1 second maybe 1.5 at best.
I keep thinking to myself I have plenty of time, I am up on time, the next all my time has run out. On lichess I rarely run out of time. However on this last game, I was watching carefully.
So I have lost most of my games on time, which now makes me wonder if this is what the problem is, this shyte site.
