What GUI are you using? I use Fritz 12 GUI with Rybka 4 and to open pgn's in that GUI I go to file, open, open database, select the folder, THEN change the filetype from CBH to allfiles or PGN.
The Fritz 12 GUI default filters the folder file list to CBH etc. You have to click on that to PGN to see the saved PGN.
