Hello Chess.com community I hope you are doing well. I recently played a blitz game where me and my opponent both had the same accuracy (80.7) but had a completely different rating estimate
mines was 1700 while my opponents was 1450. Why is this?
Heres the game for anyone who wants to see it

This is partly because chess.com's game report "accuracy" Computer Aggregated Percentage Score (CAPS) is misinterpreted by many. It is more of a "report card" on how well you preformed in your game than it is some exact science. Plus, you can get a different "accuracy" for the SAME chess game if you run the analysis at a deeper depth.

The other reason why is because the rating estimates also use the player's rating as a baseline for their estimation. chess.com has mentioned how they plan to replace this "rating estimate" feature with something more reliable in the future.

In the meantime, here is an old clip regarding "Accuracy."

Well believe chess.com but not blindly

1200 getting 90% has a different est. rating than a 1800 getting 90%

but thats also because the 1800 must play better, to get 90%!

caps isnt fully objective, and a game played by a 1200 will get higher accuracy than the same game played by a 1800

so, to counteract this, the est. rating thing is also corrected

but i think that these corrections dont add up perfectly, leading to perhaps different est. ratings for the same game

its a confusing subject this

From what I could tell from your match, it seems like you had the same accuracy throughout the game, but your opponent's accuracy was spread out, with their opening being 84.7, with their middlegame accuracy being 66.1. That somehow averages out to be 80.7 for the both of you, but you played a consistently better game than your opponent, so your rating was higher. That is what I would guess by analyzing your game.
