Scoring Central Control

I read a brief description about scoring central control. Something like 2-2 when the center is equally controlled and other scores like 2.5-1.5, 3-1, 3.5-0.5, etc.

I'd like to see some examples to ensure I understand this concept. I've done a bit of googling and came up empty so far. Anyone familiar with this and can help or point me in a direction to get material on it?
