Scoring for Divisions broken?

Hi Chess

Team,

How is the player's score 605 for the current week when he has only won one rapid game since the start of the week (17 July 2023) and shows zero count for blitz and bullet. Is the scoring broken?

When I looked at his games, I saw none at all played on the 17th.

I think you should take another look at the numbers and see if you get the same result.

It is possible that something is broken.

In general, if you find a bug, use the bug report tool to let the developers know. (It is on the bottom left Help menu on the website.)

Thanks @justbefair. It is just the same. In fact I see lot of players get into thousand points on the first day which is practically impossible given you can only get 15 points per win for rapid and proportionately less for blitz and bullet. Will check on the bug as i do not see any response to the other thread where I was checking on the difference in blunder counts every time you refresh the page (filed under Help section of the Forum).

@justbefair just a thought that you are seeing 16 July due to the time difference between India and the US.

If a league division doesn't start until Friday or Saturday, it runs until the Sunday a week later. That player's division started on one of those days.

@Martin_Stahl - the games should match whenever you started. they cant be hidden right? league divisions usually start post midnight India time. Even if you include the prior day (16 Jul) the score does not match. hoping to know from others if they see the same.

Leagues reset 12 pm US Pacific time on Sundays. Individual league divisions do not start until there are 50 members in them and unless a player promotes, they are not placed into a division until they play their first game of the week.

As I mentioned, divisions that start anytime Friday or Saturday do not end until the Sunday a week later.

That member has 40 rapid wins and 1 draw starting Friday, when their division began, through today, so the trophy count is correct.

@Martin_Stahl Oh so you mean divisions/leagues that get started during a week (Friday or Saturday as you mentioned) due to a new group of 50 getting formed reset on the next Sunday Pacific instead of the upcoming Sunday. That means those players actually get a combined score over 8/9 days instead of 7 for the divisions/leagues that are reset at the regular frequency. Yes, now it seems more feasible if the score is over 3 days. Thanks!

I looked at his game history, and saw that before Friday, he had not played anything since July 2.

@PegKnights I believe his score is Fri, Sat, Sun and then the new league scores where the rest of us started (weekly reset). Maybe if someone has the rules for the leagues that Martin mentioned, they can post it here.

I understand that.

The main point to remember is that the leagues competition ended more than a year ago.

Really.

The division start on Friday through 11:59 am Pacific time isn't posted officially I don't believe. But here's the help article.
