Searching for a chess variation game

Several years ago i found a chess variation in a magazine CD. This game was short and simple. As i remember there were few pieces and you have to eliminate a given piece in minimum number of moves. I am not able to find the game. it was only one player game.
If you happen to know about this game, please help me out, i need it badly. This game was from software company and not by any hobbyist.
