so how to manage a okay opening stage? any tips? the opponents have around 900 elo skills. I tried to play the indian defences but they have two pawn moves...

You could try this:
All e4 openings cut out? All crazy pawn sacrifices? All open wild tactcial games gone? What a sad game!
Fairly simple opening you could play is this.
Just remember if you spend two tempo's to get a pawn two squares forward they have to spend two tempo's to counter it with a pawn push of their own.

I don't suppose you could try a different approach, like, say, give them a copy of the rules of chess? 
in my univ they play a different kind of chess which differs in that you can never move a pawn two squares.
