Server issues
If it was this game, looks like you may have been disconnected from the live server process for at least a couple of minutes and since the system marked it as abandoned, it would have counted it as abandoned after 3 minutes:

It looks like 4 minutes and 40 seconds of server calculated time elapsed since your last move along with your opponent's reply and the game was considered abandoned.
Happened to me for the first time today. This game: https://www.chess.com/game/live/39674367499
Four moves in, and the game just disappeared. (I was playing on the app.) When it showed up in the archives a minute later, it said I lost by abandonment and I lost eight rating points.
Sorry to hear that happened! Doesn't seem to be any server issues at the moment. Please send in a support ticket with the link to your game from the game archive, please.

I did try to join a live tournament at the last min. Nothing popped up though. The tournament just discontinued from cue
Unfortunately, none of the things listed in that item apply here. I had only used 15 seconds or so for four moves. The app screen just went blank for a second and then it returned to the home screen as if I hadn't been playing at all. Then a minute or so later, the game showed up in my archive.

Thank you for the reply. If, as I suspect, it was simply a glitch in the app on my end, then there's likely nothing to be done about it. Mainly I was frustrated last night and wanted to vent. I will cross my fingers that it was a one-time thing.
