Definitely a good idea. They could have it simulate a playing hall with others playing. Then, after you make a move you could walk around. They could then combine a real tournament. For example, say Tata Steel is being played. You could get up and see top GMs playing while you play your game. They could broadcast the real moves through VR.

I think it would be cool to play chess on vr, like physically moving the pieces, but you don’t need an opponent right in front of you.
