When I have to go I normally say, 'i have to go can we draw?"

should people draw ?

A_VeryRisky_Gamble

Is it wrong to accept a draw from someone else then?

A_VeryRisky_Gamble

oh ummm okayy

There is absolutely nothing wrong with offering a draw, and there is nothing wrong with declining the offer

I feel like it depends. Most of the time I would say yes, especially if the other person has to go. Sometimes you even get a small win, and even if it is a small lose it would still be worth it. When I would say no is if the person is just losing. If you are winning and they don't have to go, sure then decline it. I just find it socially acceptable to accept a draw when someone has so leave. Especially because half of the time they cant control that.

What are you going to spend that rating on? Why not just be a decent person

Yes thats exactly what I think !

Yeah. I get that it can be really serious and competitive, I have been to chess tournaments, but in the end, its just a game that you are playing to get better. If someone has to go, it shouldn't be wrong to not accept and it shouldn't be wrong to ask for a draw. Chess should be fun.

If your in a winning position and you have to go, they should draw.

If your in a losing position. Still offer but they most likely would not accept, so i usually prefer to resign.

If it’s longer than blitz and it’s very equal then I’ll accept the draw

Yes.

You deserve the win if the other person has to go

really? how would you feel if you were in their shoes, the world doesn't go around you, and you aren't perfect.

Samci_OSJA2011

Depending on the position.

I am not sure what I would do.

I dont play unless I am sure I have time and I feel good.

If you call a draw because you're losing that definitely wrong but if one of you has to leave then that has to be okay right?

wspbuddy

No accept the draw if you wrong or right
