neither, it should be a normal championship where players do 4 games at a 20|15 time control and the loser is eliminated, both advance to next round if equality

players should have the right to use a electronic board to calculate the variations, because computers do and that give them unfair advantage over humans

The World Championship should be a match.
The Candidates' should be matches too.
In a tournament there is too much risk of collusion, as Fischer pointed out.

players who can potentially be allied eg same country should be paired together first round obviously

Players should be in a Faraday cage with shoes given to them by FIDE

Ooh, a cage match! That will add some excitement.

Personally I enjoy the set up as they have it now. A candidates tournament is fun to watch and gives people that 8 person tournament excitement, but the championship should be a match. One on one. Most fair as @tygxc pointed out.

Top level chess is tough for me to enjoy. So political. The players have too much say and want to change everything. They have too much power. The top player can decide last minute if he even wants to participate in the championship. The cheating accusations are too much. Are Russians even allowed in FIDE anymore?

FIDE is closer to a political party than an enjoyable sports league.
