bye
now that the 2nd round of my chess tournament has finally started il hang on and see if i can put an end to my losing streak!
Well count me as incredulous: I don't see how anyone could tire of either chess or pumpkin pie.
boneyjam: Stick with it -- it's well worth your time and attention and is one of the most rewarding endeavours I've ever undertaken.
erik: Have you tried ice-cream?
Yea stick with it, it takes time! Sooner or later your streak will take a turn for the better, unless you are part of a cult that likes to lynch your own Queens or something.
Its like a baby saying: 'I have learnt to crawl, but this walking idea is too complex - I keep falling over. I am sick of it!' A ridiculous image, but do you get the idea? Chess requires time, effort and lots of tactics work to improve and start to win. Oh, Have you learnt from your mistakes Boneyjam? Good luck to you mate!!
boneyjam, you are going to regret closing your account after about an hour passes by. Chess is not about winning all the time but about learning how to get better. Anyways, chess is just a game and it's purpose is to enjoy it! Good luck to you...
Pumpkin pie always seems bland to me, do you guys have a secret recipe?
Yes, a little Black Bush helps it go down

Freshly ground spices and homemade whipped cream... no cool whip! Use the left-over cream for scrambled eggs, white russians, pan sauces, or ice cream.
Try playing Go. I was talking to a mate the other day who plays regularly, and he highly recommended it. His precise words were:
"Compared to Go, chess is like a knife fight in a phone box".
Not sure what he meant, but I felt mildly insulted...
Cheers guys, twas a moment of madness after i had been defeated yet again, i was on a great run as has been pointed out, 10 wins in a row, rating went up to 1700 but then disaster! Played games against some very good players and was thrashed although i played well in some of them. No wins in 14 since but im determined to change it, have certainly improved at any rate since i began playing here, not enough obviously!
how does one close one's chess account?
