Can't remember the last time Carlsen agreed to a draw before move 20...
Being black and securing second place I doubt he felt he had much to play for in that position. Topalov can be content with sole third here, a good tournament for him.
So Topalov is happy with 3rd and Carlsen is happy to go to bed early. I was kinda hoping Topalov would try to finish 2nd.
I get slightly annoyed when people complain about draws in chess. Its part of the game. If Maurice doesn't like the moves these players play then he should fill in and a play a different one.
Topalov will be 2789 now, a loss for Aronian and he would be more or less third on the rating list (depending on how you see Grischuk's 0.2 higher on the live rating list that will be rounded to the same 2789 as Topalov's, with the latter ranked ahead thanks to more games on the next official list.

Actually a bit early to talk about the October rating list, it turns out that Topalov, Grischuk, Naka, MVL and many others play already a week from now in the European Club Cup. So some more points will be won or lost before the October list is definitive.

Just realized. Magnus finished +1, and got second place. A terrible finish by Carlson standards. This would have been a brilliant finish for Anand.
btickler, in a championship game, I think it was 16 moves or something.

But somehow, Kasparov's opinions stink more than most.
Caruana and Aronian might be trying to find some practical repetition.
