I know the feeling. I beat the bots at 1200 as well, but playing on line I achieved a maximum rating of about 980 about 18 months ago and since then have come down and down!! I now struggle to stay above 800 and have just dipped below this. I’m sure I’ll be able to achieve 750, and may even get down to 700!!!!!!!

idk. I think the bots are good training for the real deal, but the difference to remember is bot matches are not timed. I can (with difficulty) beat the 2k rated bot, but I hover around 1800 rating. I think the biggest thing is to be like Hikaru and literally just not care. I tend to ironically play my best games when I detach myself from the game. Maybe the same will work for you.

I don't know how the bots are playing chess, but I think bots play almost the same moves each time you play them. After playing them for too long, you might have a sense of familiarity of their movements that make you respond more accurately to their decisions. But playing against different types of individuals loses you the advantage of predictability, that is why playing against the latter is the most accurate measure of Elo Rating.
