The faster the time control the worse i play.
Slow and Accurate vs Fast and Bad (Bullet)

It seemed like the opposite for me today. The longer the time control the more I couldn't seem to calculate anything and I kept missing simple stuff.

for me, the faster the game, the worse i play.
(something tells me you were looking for responses from better players, but, hey, at least it's a bump!)
Personally I think it's crucial if you want to be a successful bullet player to try and get the balance of both. It depends on how slow for slow and accurate and how bad for fast and bad though as well... but I think I would take Fast and Bad, because if you start playing slow you're already showing weakness and you're trying to rely on gaining advantage in order to win before you flag, whereas if you are fast and bad, you'll be fine as long as you're not punished for your bad play, but then again it does depend like I've said beforehand

Yeah, I experimented (only a little) with both the last 2 days, and I feel like it's better to push it towards fast and bad. Getting ahead (or behind) 10 seconds in a 1 | 0 game is a pretty good advantage. In the last half of the game maybe worth a whole piece (everything else being equal).
Yeah I think so too @Chebyshevv and if you manage to play some less obvious moves or employ some bullet tactics then it becomes much easier to win games like that

But when I tried to play blitz today, I was having a really horrible time. Good or bad position didn't matter, I kept missing things and losing
Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
Yeah blitz is almost completely different because when you're so used to bullet, blitz seems very slow for you so you have to go on with a different approach. Good luck!

Did better today. Was happy to get over 2100.
Honestly when you play fast and push for the initiative, I think people play worse than normal. I get the feeling there's a big difference between taking 3 seconds to play a tricky move and taking less than 1 second.
Just my impression.

Well done, keep it up!
I think it's a psychological thing, when your make your move immediately your opponent will try to match your pace which could force errors, but it's also a double-edged sword in a way
What side do you think is the best to err on for no increment speed games?
