For the last few weeks I've felt my chess game improve rapidly and feel that I've become a relatively solid player. That is, I can beat the average person with little to no problems. However, the last day or two I've been slumping hard, making silly mistakes, and generally not playing like myself. I know exam time is coming up and I am feeling the stress a bit; but, is that a viable excuse? Perhaps I have been practicing to much? My plans perhaps have become to grandiose, and I'm not engaging within the simple game?
Any ideas? Suggestions? How does one break a slump?
