I just played this in rapid. Probably my favorite game to date!

Edit: finally got the PGN to work, two posts down.

I'm on mobile I can't figure out how to post the PGN so it's active.

Lol, cool mate!

Was 5.Ne5 theory? Feels like black should be winning but it looks like you can develop nasty threats after g2+ so probably Qxg4 was the best move when you are down a pawn but with an equal position (feels like it)?

Bronstein, absolutely.  I actually learned the opening from one of Simon's (aka "Ginger")  videos. He has a whole series on the kings gambit.  He loves "spicy" openings and so do I.

At top level play perhaps not the most sound openings, but at my level none of that matters.  I will take more fun over theoretically sound any day!

Wow that's pretty cool

I feel like both sides didn't play their best moves though.

Where do you think I went astray?

First, instead of Nc3, Bc4 is better.

Both moves are theory.

Does this count as a smothered mate with a pawn too?

White played well; black inaccurately.  First blunder was playing Be7 instead of Be6; second blunder was playing Kb8 instead of Kd6 or some other such move.  However, black's play was worse overall.
