That is an interesting article. I knew that a couple of schools had chess programs.

I had no idea that Webster was spending that kind of money on chess.

I money being made is going to Polgar. I don't think the students are getting that much out of it. Well...it's probably fun.

Webster is to chess what Alabama is to football.  I think it's funny that they go out of their way to recruit top GMs all over the world then act like it has to do with their coaching.  No, they are just fielding a team of GMs against a team of experts and winning.  Nothing magical there.

There is quite a noticable rise in professional gaming in general. Can't say I'm too suprised that arguably the best game ever made was amongst them.
