That's very interesting. I learned to play chess back in the "Bobby Fischer" era before online chess existed. Over-the-board speed games could become a madhouse of grabbing pieces, occasionally knocking over some pieces on the board, and noisily banging your button down on the chess clock. Now, online, the pieces all sit precisely centered on their squares and the overall presentation of the board is clear. The downside might be how good your reflexes are moving your pieces with a mouse.
Thanks for your response FirebrandX.
Hello,
Do the world's top chess players play speed chess equally well in online chess versus over-the-board? I was just wondering if some players have significantly better results in one type of chess over the other. The difference in their chess "vision" and their dexterity in moving the pieces may cause this. What do you think? Note: this question relates to speed chess time controls only.
