In the latest update of the Square Off app you have game history. Looking through my history I noticed a serious error that explains why I often lost rating after winning games. In these games I have the opposite colour to what says in the history, so when I e.g. won with white I’m registered as playing black!
I think you should look through your history if you’ve experienced anything similar. I wrote to Square Off, and they’re looking into it.

That's weird... no i haven't seen that but to be fair i don't remember what games I played as white or black or against what opponent so I wouldn't be able to track that or even understand how you could if you have played a decent amount of games on there LOL

I am never in doubt when I look at the games, but I also save all my played games in the Analyze This app, so that does all the memory for me.

Oh smart! I don't do that as much as I should, but I really like the Analyze This app. I bought the premium version and use it for more than just square off games

I still have had little success with this via chess.com. I’ll try a few more games via square off today.

Ok, so I just successfully completed a game on square off with a chess.com opponent, but it does not appear in my chess.com stats. Perhaps it was a unrated game? Is there a way from within the square off application to tell, or to limit only to rated games on chess.com?

Played another chess.com game, same result, it does not appear on my stats on their site. Do a record of these games get created anywhere? It would be good feature if I could download or send a pgn of games played.

Whenever I play on chess.com... i go to the app after. Drag down on the archived games so it refreshes and the matches appear. From there i can analyze the match and copy the pgn if need be.

I’m afraid this answer did not help me. I can see the games in the Square Off archive, but do not see any way to convert or export them as PGN files. They do not appear at all in my Chess .com account, which shows no games played at all.

What I expect to see, is that when I play a game using the Square Off application and board against a Chess.com opponent, that came will be saved in both the Square Off application, and in my chess.com account. That does not seem to be happening, and I am trying to figure out why.

Is it possible to automatically setup positions for tactics training? Like load a PGN in the app and the board arranges the pieces automatically so we can solve a bunch of tactics over the board instead of in the computer screen? This would save so much time and would be much more awesome than playing games...

No, not yet anyway. Hopefully it is only a few updates away though !

I would pay SERIOUS money for that. Really.

I dream of a Grand Kingdom Board which has 2 1/4" squares with an auto sensory board. That is capable of all thing mentioned.

I think it'd be too slow to arrange the position, probably quicker to do it yourself. How long does it take the reset the board for a new game on the bigger set?

I have o idea how long it takes... I do not own one, because I see little value in it as of now... I can move my opponent's piece myself... In case of being slow, only if it moves one piece at the time... I do not know how the magnets are wired inside the board... maybe moving many pieces at a time would cause things to physically crash inside the board... maybe they did not build the board with this in mind... but it would be a dream come true to have this board setup a random position reasonably fast (5-10 seconds)... I would easily pay 1K for a board capable of that

So essentially, you don't know?

Exactly

Dennis_Petersen

older computer chess units already allowed you to set up a position and play it out as I recall the old Excalibur phantoms had that feature. perhaps the later excaliber grand masters. I doubt a larger version board would be any slower, they might be faster as stronger magnets would allow quicker movements resetting the position while you got a cup of coffee etc

Dennis_Petersen

works for me

In the Squate Off application, if I go to game history it shows 16 games played.  But where it lists my results at the top of the leader board portion of the app, it only shows nine? Anyone have any ideas on why that is?

Dennis_Petersen

you have to play a certain number of games before they list you on the leader board to establish a rating that is based on a number of games
