I notice that today all of a sudden my Start New Game feature has default minimum and maximum ratings. 300 points below and 300 above my current rating, aapparentlly a reccomendation of chess.com.

Yes, this is the default setting but you can always change the numbers in the Start New Game box to something else you prefer.

I notice it too and don't like it.
