It has probably been already asked before but :

Will chess.com feature live chess960? With blitzes etc?

Robert_New_Alekhine

Am I REALLY not the best member of chess.com?

SmyslovFan

I just played a standard (30+30) live game and nearly lost because the entire site crashed. What is being done to make sure live chess isn't affected by massive crashes like that in the future?

Hi everyone!

With the success of the first State of Chess.com show with CEO Erik, we've decided to do it again!

On February 5th at 10am PST, Erik will once again be livestreaming with answers to the best questions as well as talking about what's coming next for Chess.com!

We'll be regularly tracking this topic to come up with the best questions for Erik, and we'll look forward to seeing you all at the show on February 5th!

I know this is the wrong forum , please forgive me but since this is your thread, and I was told to message you, here goes. How do I fix this issue? , my comment window is overlaying the topic post. Again Sorry

Since I have been doing this longer than most members have been eating solid foods, trust me, this site is exactly right. There were a few sites that were mostly social . There were a few sites that were so Algebraic, you'd  need a full night sleep to play on.This site is exactly right.

Chess.com, I was just looking at when my renewal date comes up and noticed that the platinum & gold memberships do not offer ChessMentor lessons anymore. Is this true?

Old package - 5 lessons a day for platinum, 1 lesson for gold

New package - 0 lessons a day for platinum, 0 lessons for gold

---

Chances are that I will not be able to view the livestream on Feb. 5, can staff answer the question in this forum?

Pretty please?

New to here, I hope I'm using this feature correctly. My question is I don't have a computer at the moment so my only avenues of playing chess are iPhone apps and I've found some good ones. I have no idea what my rating would be (I suspect 1300-1400) and I really don't know where to go from here. I've done some research and I know reading/studying is vital but it's hard to know what would be the most beneficial. Any advice would be much appreciated!

As my friend who kindly messaged me put it: We amateurs need to learn to walk before we debate what kind of gymnastic flip we wish to perform...

Camelsofyacub: I've played casually for about 18 years and am familiar with tactics, chess notation, and a little studied in openings if that helps. I wouldn't say I'm green, just past it I suppose

It all depends how seriously you want to take the game. How many hours do you put in each day/week? Which areas of your game do you need to improve? I understand I just think a lot of people get ahead of themselves...

I believe it all depends on the way you look at things. One staff member said "anything is possible". Someone who I have been messaging lately said "Don t believe anyone when they say all you need to do is etc because people forget things." My advice to you is to have a sense of direction. For example if you want to study the Marshal attack study the lines. To be honest don t listen to me as I'm classed as a beginner and you have a 300-400 point higher rating than me. All I can tell you is that Improved 175 points in one month which shocked me! Studying does reap it s benefits...

hello

I think this isn't relevant to the topic at hand, but I'll still mention it: I have recently been having a glitch where I try to make an online chess seek for Chess960, and it tells me that all my seeks are invalid because I have an "invalid rating range" and that my own rating needs to be included in the range. Last time I checked, my rating range was 800 to 2800 and since I've only played one game of 960, my rating is listed in the 1300s. I can't start a game because of this glitch and it's very frustrating

If the issue is in V3 watch this video on how to report the bug. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/danny-introduces-v3-and-some-of-the-new-features

What is chess.com's goal for 2016?

dpnorman

@Commander_Riker Well in V3 they do me one better and don't even seem to give me the option to make a 960 game! But maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
