I know that the Steiniz gambit lost much of its popupairity it once had.
But does someone knows a clear refutation of it?
After the moves 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.f4 exf4 4.d4! Qh4+ 5.Ke2 we have the Steiniz gambit on the board. Now the three main moves for black here are A. 5... b6 B 5...d6 and C 5...d5!?
The last a very sharp and maybe dubious line in wich black sacs a piece of activaty.
Last C has the crazy line 5...d5!? 6 exd5 Bg4+ 7.Nf3 0-0-0 8.dxc6 Bc5 9.cxb7+ Kb8 and how we must Judge this position? the first can go like A 5...b6 6.Nb5 Ba6 7.a4 0-0-0 And is this maybe the best line for black? Or must it be B 5...d6 ?
