I had the same problem until I decided to wear no belt anymore while playing otb. its really important because the pain definitely won't increase the quality of your thoughts.
Stomach Aches

actually, honestly,
I find blitz more stressful. and yes I do sometimes get a queasy upset stomach getting in a G5 or G10 game.
I find not having enough time to find a good move worse that the waiting.

I have kind of the same problem but on a much lesser extent. I get an upset stomach, just a slight discomfort, nothing major. It is weird because it happens sporadically, so it may or may not happen and it is irrelevant to rating of the opponent or time of the day the games are going to be.

its common then? ( I thought so), though not perhaps everyone feels it at the same circumstances or severity.
I can imagine people feeling that way perhaps when a game goes badly and they are down material or short on time.

I used to get nauseous before every soccer game because of nerves. But never nervous over chess.
Then you say soccer is more exciting than chess?
Soccer games have a lot of draws too.

I saw this reaction long time ago in OTB tournaments. It was a player who was very nervous and kept bowing in and out towards the board with also a deep and fast breath. I didn't think at that time that it was some kind of attempt of distraction, but the other player was quite calm (and winning) Never saw it again after this one.

In OTB games, I have often gotten extremely nervous, to the point my hands mildly shake and my stomach feels like I'm going down a rollercoaster. I don't feel this online, which I think is because I can't see my opponent. Having someone sit across from me just does me in.
It's not the same thing as the OP, but it's similar.

A couple friends and I went to a Mongolian BBQ last Saturday after a tournament. I went overboard with the onions, hot oil pepper, kung pao sauce, and garlic. Talk about stomach ache...But man was the pain worth it.

No, I didn't. It's just more nerve wrecking for me. And draws can be exciting, regardless of the arena.
Hi, this must sound like an odd question. But does anybody other than myself get upset stomach to the point of being in a fetal position when playing tough OTB games?
This is related to irritable bowel movements.
I am not looking for a doctor's advice, just wonder if anyone shares my experience.
BTW I don't play OTB anymore in part due to that reason.
