Do you think strong logic in chess is one thing and strong logic in everyday life another?

Yes. Chess has rules that can't be broken real life rules are bent and broken all the time causing life in general to be far more unpredictable.

Also some decisions that affect your life are sometimes beyond your contro (work, spouse, weather etc.) causing life again to be far more unpredictable

My girlfriend is actually playing chess with me OTB every night lately because a couple of her professors recommended she do so to raise her LSAT scores.
