I'm playing a game, currently in this position, with a friend. He's been sitting and contemplating his next move for over 15 minutes. Now, am I crazy or is there no way out of this?

What does it matter its his time to use regardless of what the position is on the board, wish people would stop posting on this stupid shit

Sorry, I should say this is a real life game. He's sitting across from me right now. If it were online I wouldn't care, but he's just wasting both of our reeeeeal time.

If your time is that valuable, then resign.

Okay, guys, the point of the thread is the question of whether or not he can be saved. I really am not bothered by the waste of time—I think it's silly and I think he's stubborn, yes, but I'm not mad or anything.

So, do you see a way out?

you guys are no fun

Looking back on the position, I don't know why I really posted this. He's obviously lost in multiple ways. Sorry about the waste of space. love you

Sounds like a sore loser. Use a clock, or don't play him again.

Avatar of Caliphigia

Perhaps he  was looking for a stalemate - not that there is one in that position. Maybe 1. h4 Bg6, 2. Kxg6 Ke8, 3. d7+ Ke7, 4. d8R.

The only way to get a draw here is to offer you 100$ for a draw.

Sir, it is against the rules of good form in chess to comment on a game that is still in progress.  Nuff said.

haha, sounds like you guys were having fun!  :)

having fun, indeed! :b)

this is what i would do:  with a smile on your face, reach out to shake his hand and say:  "i would like to offer you a draw".  you've already done the work of killing him on the board and now it's time to "kill him with kindness". i believe in being gracious, but judging by the many posts i've read on these type of topics, i may be in the minority

White is clearly winning, but if I was playing Black with a friend I'd play on. I've played on in similar positions in speed chess. Difference if the game is for fun or in a tournament.

It's bad mental form to be upset over this.

maybe his hopping for a draw, pat
