The first suggestion I have for low-rated players is to stop playing bullet and blitz. That just teaches you bad habits. If you are going to advance, you will have to unlearn the bad habits you picked up playing speed chess.
The next suggestion is to start paying attention to positional aspects of play. If you are truly a 1500 player, you know basic tactics already. So you need to move on to positional chess.

I dont really play blitz and bullet and prefer longer time controls. Most of my openings are positional since I hate attack and defence games.
