I prefer a physical board because touching the pieces adds kinesthetic/tactile input but also it forces me to slow down and look at the position.
If you never plan to play on the physical board though it may not be worth getting used to analyzing on a 3d board.

How do you study? at computer or at physical board? Do you thing there are physcological reason to learn more with one over the other.
