Suggestion for the Tactics Trainer

Hey Erik...I already stated my position. I'm cool with the unrrated section. It is all I play now.
yep - that's why we created it :) glad you are enjoying it!

what you want is a system with a different mathematical forumula and one that would clearly produce less accurate ratings in a timed environment. essentially that is like saying that you are playing in a blitz tournament, but anyone at any time can just extend the clock as much as they want and then avoid losing any ratings points. how that can make for accurate ratings is nonsensical.
i'm done exploring this topic. you clearly have your opinion which you are entitled to. and you are correct - i am rigid. once i have open-mindedly explored a topic (which i clearly did throughout this thread), i don't feel obligated to then bend or give credence to an idea i feel is incorrect. and since it is my stewardship to act in the best interests of the chess.com community, i've made up my mind. we will keep the existing tactics rating forumulas as they are and will, at some point, introduce an untimed/rated version that will hopefully appease those players who don't want to lose rating points or feel pressured by the clock.
thanks for the interesting discussion! i think the idea and the exploration of it were valuable.
we're not going to introduce bad math and negative incentives into rated, timed tactics trainer. :) period.
we may introduce a rated, but untimed, version in the future.
