Tactics and Strategy

I dont mean to be dumb but can someone explain the difference between the two?

Put simply strategy is what you want to do  in the general sense and tactics are the specifics of how you accomplish your strategy( in a forced sequence of moves)

Np, keep in mind that a strategy can not be good if it is not tactically sound(eg u lose a piece to a combination while you are trying to implement your plan)

its just that i seem to score higher in the stratgey than the tactical when using the mentor thing, or is it the other way round :S

No problem...Strategy is "easier" in that you just need to get the general idea for the most part(although some have more issues with that part).  While tactics you have to get every detail right.  Don't worry about it.  Just try to keep improving
