Take back move

Why do you let unsportsman conduct. People get off internet, then get back on. They fake giving up, some take 10minutes to make the easiest move. You have terrible people on here, you need to police, the sportsmanship. AirForce1997

I'm almost sure that there is (or was?) a setting for "Take-back" when you set up the challenge. At least in Daily Chess. I don't play live chess.
Grandmaster Matulovic was so notorious for moving, reaching toward the clock, then suddenly saying "J'adoube!" and retracting the move... that his fellow GMs sometimes referred to him as J'adoubovic.
LOL.
I think I found it:

chancho: <In 1967, Grandmaster Milan Matulovic (1935-2013) of Yugoslavia was playing against Istvan Bilek (1932-2010) in the 9th round at the Interzonal in Sousse, Tunisia.
Matulovic made a losing move with his bishop (38.Bf3??), pressed his chess clock, and soon realized he had made a mistake. So he took back his bishop move, moved his king (38.Kg1), and only then said “J’Adoube” (“I adjust” – which is said before adjusting pieces on a square). Matulovic then wrote his move on his score sheet as if nothing happened. Bilek went to the tournament director to protest, but Matulovic replied, <<<“But I said j’adoube!”>>> There was a huge argument, but the tournament director, having only Bilek’s word against Matulovic, refused to require Matulovic to make his original move with his bishop, as the rules of chess state. Bilek protested three times to the tournament director, but was ignored. The game ended in a draw. After this incident, even the Yugoslav players shunned Matulovic. Ever since this incident, Matulovic has been referred to as “J’adoubovic.” A few days after the game with Bilek, Matulovic choked on a bone and had to be taken to the Doctor. From then on, the joke was that the doctor couldn’t find a bone, but instead found the word “j’adoube” stuck in Matulovic’s throat.> |

Take back move make for lousy chess. The only thing can different about the on line game, is touch a piece, and you don't have to move it. Though,I suppose there is a program for that.

Well, in that case another option is to allow a take back request in casual unrated games. Or a casual mode that is not just unrated but may have the take back option. Perhaps a setting could be chosen as to how many takebacks could be granted, OR a mode where only a few seconds are allowed to request a takebacks. If another player does grant it there could be a five to fifteen second time to make a different move. You wouldn't be able to change your mind and actually change your mind after the opponent had already approved the takeback request to avoid abuse of the option.
Another way to approach this as if it were like analyze mode except with two players. Maybe could better used if players were playing specifically to study games and variations.

No takebacks in life, and still you keep playing because you don't have another choice. It shouldn't be different on this board game that has a resemblance with it. The good news are, when game is over you can just start another one.

I believe you can do something like that in a Live analysis board. Downsides are that one player has to be Platinum/Diamond and there are no clocks.
It's fine if there is much money at stake
