People like this are the reason I will not purchase a chess.com membership. The site wants us to "be relevant and kind," but so many people simply refuse to do that. And the moderators allow it. The internet, unfortunately, gives people the power to hide behind a fake name and say things to strangers that they would *never * say face-to-face.
Courtesy does not cost anything, people.
You have three options: 1) Ignore the player. 2) Activate Safe Mode on Settings which deactivates the chat. 3) Report and block the player. Choose whichever is more convenient for you.
This is strange, you had 4 games in 8 years and you already got enough responses to make you believe that everyone is "trolling and hustling". I got more games both here and on lichess and stil can count on my hand players who were either sour losers or bad winners.
As soon as I join a game and make a few moves, I'm insulted and trolled. Its not justified. The site's chat says please be nice, hold your insults.
its called the internet, unfortunately you cannot escape from stuff like this
Shall we hug it out...... Just disable chat if your getting your feelings hurt. Or just don't reply to any messages that aren't positive. It's not chess.coms place to nanny people, just don't rise to it, idiots are everywhere.
It sounds like you're talking about vote games. All vote teams are different, but make sure you're aware of the team's guidelines for how to handle vote chess, often posted somewhere on their team page or on the first move of the game (you can browse discussions on prior moves).
Typically, at least with strong vote chess teams, the rule is that discussion comes first, and only after moves have been discussed are you to vote for your choice (typically in the last 24 hours of the vote). If you're just going in and voting for moves that haven't been discussed or before discussion has been completed (which is what "join a game and make a few moves" sounds like), then people will indeed be irritated with you because you're working against the team effort.
Vote chess is a great way to learn how to think about positions in new ways, from stronger players. Asking questions about why others have worries about your suggested moves can be a terrific way to learn. But just jumping in and doing it solo isn't.
