Tell moves out loud

Hi All,

I purchase a Square Off board and I really like to play with real pieces.

However, with Square Off, in a 40 moves game, I lose 40 moves x 7 sec in average = close to 5 minutes waiting the board to move my adversary pieces, half my time! I not even thinking of a 80 moves games! In the 10 minutes games I love to play, it's Blitz for me and 10 minutes for my opponent happy.png

To solve my problem, I was thinking of using any chess set and have my phone, face down, telling me to move my opponent piece from e2-e4. But... I'll have to enter my move or telling my phone to move e7-e5.

Is it even possible with chess.com or any other software to do this? Or can a DGT board can do that with a software telling the moves of my opponent?

Thanks

Chessbase and fritz definitely announce moves out loud, also on a DGT i think on chessbase server you can play somebody and the move registers to the clock.....i'll follow up because i just dusted off my DGT just now and seeing what capabilities are available. (Thats how i got here haha)

I would like some audio setup as well. You wouldn't have to be staring at the screen all the time if moves were announced, especially during tournaments. Just focus on the game you want to follow, and you would hear the voice of your choice.

Yes, it is possible because of a recent chess invention

I would not play blitz or even rapid with the SquareOff. I guess 1 hour would be the shortest time control to be sure will not suffer with the delay.

I will receive my board next week.
