A small suggestion. Sometimes when I play someone I don't recognize the flag. It would be good if one could click on the flag icon and be told what country the flag represents.
TEN WAYS CHESS.COM COULD BE IMPROVED, in my opinion

Chess.com is a brilliant name based on a strong keyword. It has a monthly search volume of 121 million on google alone to be exact. Chess ratings has a monthly search volume of just 1,390,000. Chess ratings is better with a monthly search volume of 56 million 300 thousand. So my friend. chess.com might sound boring to you but it is the best choice domain name for a site like this to ensure the largest amount of organic traffic.

I would say that only your first point is valid, the gui board for chesscube is insanely polished and well done, that said other than that chess.com beats chesscube in every way.

Heres a quick run through of all the possible ways this site could be improved, using chesscube.com as a reference, an example of what a chess site should be.
1. Improve The board/peices
They look, act, and appearin every way to be Tired, Old and bored. I mean come on...brown peices on a beige board? Yawnity yawn.
2.Make the chatroom more accessible
3.change the name from chess.com to something more original -like chessratings.com or chessplay.com
But chess.com? With the very name of the site barking inorinigality and unpolish at strangers, you might just as well put up a board warning prospective chessplayers, looking for creative gamery, away.
4. The colour of the site, too, could do with some slight alterations, what say you?
Ever wondered why, in comparison to this site, chesscube draws its masses like moths to a bulb? Its the interface, which, as I can tell you, being a reg at both sites, that works.
Where this site moans humdrum colours at its denizens, chesscube welcomes you with a glowing, bubbly background colour.
Feel free to add your suggestions below. How could our living space be made a leetle more colourful?
I've got to be honest, this one of the most hilariously bad posts I've ever seen.
I'll start with "chesscube.com as an example.
hahahahahaha wow. No.
Ok, moving on:
1. The board pieces can be changed to probably 20 different options for each on chess.com. On chesscube, last time I was there (which has been awhile, because, remember, it's ridiculously terrible), you had one or two options and then had to acquire freaking cubits or something to "buy" more options. Which, by the way, you would definitely want to do, because chesscube's pieces are terrible. And the board, with a gradient in each separate dark square (?!) is awful as well. On this point, chess.com is MILES ahead of chesscube. Fail.
2. The chat room more accessible? What exactly is inaccessible about it now? It seems to be about as accessible as it is on chesscube to me. Basically, both are useless in this area. Meh.
3. Now this one. Wow. Ever wonder why chess.com has about 10x the number of players as most other sites? It's because of that URL. Changing that would be one of the worst possible things they could do. Even suggesting this is indicative of a horrible thought process. Ultra fail.
4. Chess.com literally allows you to change the theme of the way the site looks, so you can make it pretty much any color you want. Can't change jack squat on chesscube. Another bigtime fail.
Your next comment makes it sound like chesscube has more players than chess.com. Mega fail. Chess.com has approximately 10x the number of players online at any one time as chesscube. I'm not sure how you could even make this mistake.
In summary, rarely have I ever seen one post approach getting this much wrong. I'm not even a very big fan of chess.com, but the way it smooshes chesscube's pathetic hind end in pretty much every possible way is collosal.
