What if you had an additional deck of cards, from which you could take one, every time you captured one of your opponents pawns?
You could use those cards in your turn, and they would be like:
-you gain one pawn on the XX square
-your opponent has to move his rook 2 squares
-whatever
This would add some value to your pawns and would create a lot more excitment in the chess community.
This would also be hard for computers.
