The game of risk and chess combined? An interesting game prospect

I think a cool game would be if you could play on a risk board (real map or imaginary) and have your own territory like a risk or other strategy game.

However, instead of fighting by chance, all your armies would be chess pieces and you would have to conquer territory based on your chess skill.

I am not sure if anyone knows of a game like this but I think it would be highly entertaining and fun.

It would also be cool if chess.com had a game like that, I think it would be revolutionary in some ways for the game of chess.

How about a game with only one rule, which is:

1. Come up with an indisputably excellent game.

It exists, Diplomacy is like that. It's on a map of Europe and there's no chance in it. It's all diplomatic trickery :)

Haha that is true but I am surprised nothing like this has really come out. I mean you could really engineer a game like sid meier's civilization or europa universalis with this model.

I mean if you throw in an advanced economic and diplomatic element even to a fictional map, I think something like this could take off and make chess more interesting.

Think of like how you could have chess navies and random barbarians with the computer being at different levels raiding your frontiers, it could really add a lot of flavor to both risk and chess.
