I am so ANGRY that you cannot get a second chance!!!!😠😡🤬

Fr this is actually so annoying. Like you’re about to take a hanging piece but you accidentally let go of your mouse at the wrong time and blunder your Queen.

bobdabob63

not really unfair, it teaches you to be patient and think moves through before clicking

jimlargon

I think the exact same thing happens during a go tournament (yes, GM level)

blueemu

A chess game is not intended to test your hand-eye coordination.

IKR

albacored

Depends on the time format. In daily games you have to confirm your move.

DelightfulLiberty

Maybe this could be solved with a text option, just type/speak the move.  Are there accessibility options which allow for this?

wimulkeman

You could change the behavior of moving your pieces. Under settings > board and pieces there is an option of how to move your pieces. By default, it is set to drag or click. You could change that to click only to prevent dragging errors.

I could not find an option to confirm your move in rapid chess. As @albacored said in daily chess you need to confirm your move by default.

arron

its ok happens all the time

xor_eax_eax05

Because it'd be abusable. Anyone could hang their queen and then go "oh no, it was a... err... misclick, let me fix this".

SoupSailor
In rapid I use click instead of drag to avoid mouse slips. In blitz when you have to move fast it’s really unavoidable though.

Fr Like can’t you get a second chance or something bruh it’s like so annoying
DelightfulLiberty

I've only had it happen once, and I just chalked it up to user error.  Based on this thread, though, I have changed my settings to click only.  Best to avoid it happening again.  A takeback option would obviously be abused, so that's a bad idea.  Like taking your fingers off a piece OTB, best to be really careful and slow.

But then after you hang a piece you could just act like it was a Missclick when it isn’t?

And some people would obviously do that.  Not a good solution.  Agreed.
