I had to reset my phone and now I have the new format which is overly complicated. Some of the navigation buttons during the game have been removed. It just too overwhelming now with all of these silly options.
I am guessing you are talking about the new version of the Android app. I am sure that the developers would appreciate somewhat more detailed feedback on what they have built. You can join the Android club or just send your feedback to support@chess.com.

According to the Play store, the current version is 3.8.6. The beta is 4.0.0 , so unless the OP is on the beta program for the app, then that might not be the problem being seen.
