The Queen is dead!

Here is a game I played recently which confirms the old adage: Do not develop the Queen too early (there should be an "or else..." at the end, I think).  I'd also like some comments from the Chess.com community regarding the White attack...  could Black have swung the momentum in his favor by removing the Bishop before castling long?

9.Bg5?? is a blunder, Black can just take it and then he will be a full piece up. Very strange move.

If instead you had played 9.Nc3, you'd have the same threat of playing 10.Be3 without losing a piece...

Thank you!
