This happens to me regularly, but the thing that really gets me are those players that abandon games when they are in hopeless positions rather than doing the sporting thing and resigning which wastes my time. I think players should lose double or treble points for abandoning games rather than resigning.
The waiting game is after the chess game is over but you still have 15min on the clock each. you are in a clearly winning position, maybe up a rook and minor piece, a queen, maybe even a single pawn on h7 and your opponent has no counter play at all!!!!
your opponent will then decide to grind you out on the clock, hoping you will have bad internet and disconnect or lose patience for your unstoppable win.
i hate that game, why do so many opponents do this and run the clock ? so annoying!!!
